In all seriousness though, I wouldn't mind doing one of these without a long cake stop in the middle just to see how quick I could go ... though you can never legislate for punctures!

Save yourself the £30 or whatever and just ride the route then (edit: not on the day of the event - in your own time I mean).
It's an expensive timing chip when you've already got Strava/Garmin etc.

Have to be quick. My club mates took 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 50. Average speed just under 22mph.

Better train hard off season.

yes thats the one, likened it to meeting Katie Hopkins from the apprentice, not that nice to look at and after ten minutes in its company i felt sick, the descent however was most enjoyable, obviously
