Yeah, I had great fun testing out how nimble the big bruit is & this twit in a volvo followed me, I think he ran out of fuel.
Seriously though, with stop & go cruise control plus an active anti-collision system it's actually quite hard to tailgate another vehicle or drive into something in the 5er. Say I'm cruising along at 30mph (on CC or by throttle) & someone pulls out. If I'm close enough the vehicle detects I'll need to brake hard to avoid going into it the car will start to brake for me aiming to get to 0 mph about 1m away from the vehicle that's just pulled out. As the vehicles speed increases the system will constantly re-evaluate where that 0 mph point is & reduce the braking to match. Apparently the same thing happens if one is to try charging up to the back of someone, you get to this point where the car won't let you get any closer at a given speed, if the speed drops then the physical distance between vehicles is allowed to reduce as the car is always aiming to be about 1m away from the vehicle in front when you come to a halt.
