A couple of friends and I are looking to hire bikes in Girona in October - there seems to be an abundance of Cannondales.

Before we confirm, am I right in thinking most people size down on a Cannondale Synapse, because of the longer virtual top tube measurement?

Two of us are usually a 56cm in Specialized, Trek etc. and the other chap rides a 60cm. So I'm thinking we might need two 54cm frames and one 58cm with the 'Dales.

Any experience / info welcomed! TIA.

I suppose it depends on individual proportions but I Bought a smaller Synapse and whilst I find it comfortable especially on the drops, it can leave me feeling a bit crushed or scrunched up at times. I wouldn't part with it despite one offer on the table but if I could do it again I would have bought the same size bike as both Genesis bikes.

I've looked at the geometry and in fact the 56cm comes up very similar to my 56cm Emonda for stack, height, reach, top tube etc (possibly because the Emonda is a race-fit, so naturally lower and longer).

Will see if I can sling a leg over one somewhere before I order!
