His and hers touring bikes, in need of some tlc - free for collection - now gone

Drop bar Revolution Country Explorer, Reynolds chromoly frame, fits me at 5'11", 3x9, front and rear racks, mudguards, Avid cable disks, Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour tyres, Pletscher centre stand. Saddle is a random one from spares box, as I need to keep my leather look Charge Spoon.

These are 12 years old, veterans of many long tours all over Europe carrying us and full 3 month camping kit. For various reasons we are having to give up touring, so would rather these went to someone who would sort them out for a continued touring life. They do need some work , new bar tape, bar foam grip, attention to gears and brakes etc, but could be sorted to make great touring bikes again. They were last used on a 2500km tour of Netherlands, Germany and Denmark last summer, and haven't been touched since. Would need to be collected from near Grantham

One week in a nutshell :

DM’ed Robin about the bikes as it suited us perfectly (height wise) & the bike pictures were exchanged. Deal finalised but the difficult bit, my car wouldn’t fit both the bikes with the seats folded. Conveyed the same to Robin & he drove down all the way to Essex to deliver them. No one has been this kind to me & have told the same to Robin. Appreciate it a lot & thank you so much, Robin. Hoping your ride back was good. It was really nice meeting you.

Gave the bikes a good wash & the shine brought a smile to me. Need to work on the disc rotors + chains but that will have to wait for a bit. Hope I can do justice to them. Thank you once again.

PS : Hoping Mrs Robin liked the wine ( no idea about wines).
