Bikes fine. My CAADX is a tough old bird and it'll take more than that to damage her.

Not go all CSI and use a combo of who orders BMW wing mirror and forensically matching the paint from both mirror and car? Or have I been watching too much crime drama...![]()
That's as far as it's going I'm afraid. I have a few nice bruises and a scab or two now, but I'm not in any discomfort or pain. No bike damage, so I guess I should thank my luck stars and just get on with life.
I'm not on knowledgable ground here, as this is more for a FSI to answer, but I think you can only examine paint and say which make and model vehicle it's from, rather than sort of DNA it to a specific car...
What I do know is that this test is expensive, and unlikely to be authorised for much other than a fatal RTC/murder.

Isn't there some kind of age test of paint?
No idea! We need a CSI - Cycling crimeScene Investigator![]()
ok, as a practical matter you can't identify the car, and there are no witnesses to conveniently give a reg number. Being realistic that's any investigation into the "fail to stop" offence over before it's begun.
I wasn't suggest the police should sit their playing poker and polishing their golf clubs, but as a practical matter what if their efforts turn up nothing? You got no evidence, you got no case. At this time the example you cite still has no case.
