Ho chi Minh trail?

Hi, I'm thinking of cycling from Ho chi Minh city to Hanoi next February/march using th Ho chi minh trail and was just wondering if anyone has done the Ho chi Minh trail and has any tips/ advice on length , time, visa's, terrain , camping or accommodation etc please ??

Fabulous idea. That part of the world can be fantastic or miserable depending on planning, weather season etc. Might I suggest looking at you tube travelogues. They can be very insightful.

Feb march is a decent time, will be marginally cooler in the south, and quite a bit cooler in the north than high summer, and avoids the worst of the humidity and heavy rains. Its likely to rain at some point, but usually short sharp shower and then the sun comes out again.
