Well out of the blue Mrs P has booked her dad a holiday a five day break. It is his idea.A place in Lancashire not far from where he used to live.A pub The Cross Keys which has holiday cottages in it's grounds.Him us and another sister,i am not ecstatic but it's only Mon - Fri.Fleetwood is the highlight visit yes i did say Fleetwood.Eating out is various pubs which he used to use, plus fish and chip place and the Garden Centre which he has frequented for years.I have got a funny feeling this is going to be like a farewell tour, its all based on his younger self and past and places he likes.I do get these hunches now and again.

Lots of UK breaks this year, what I like TBH. Newborough forest next weekend - van camping two nights, loads of friends joining day two - taking bikes ! South Coast a week later - hotels mainly, overnight in Stratford Upon Avon, then to Brighton for two days, Sandbanks for a night and four nights in a static caravan in Devon. Taking bikes again !

After cancelling the holiday this year to get the money back after the issues with the roof left me skint i had a look around and got 4 nights in august for a chalet in scratby for £300 , bung it on the plastic so at least we get some break this year .

I will now have to google Scratby, a new one on me.

We have booked with Trailfinders for east coast Canada later this year. Fly BA to Toronto (visit Niagara Falls) train to Ottawa, train to Quebec train to Montreal then home with BA. We will spend five days exploring each city and staying at the best hotels.
We have used Trailfinders for our two New Zealand camper van adventures and also for our Rocky Mountaineer and the Rockies last year. Trailfinders organisation is first class they know all the best places to stay and explore.
Hopefully the Middle East will have settled down and people getting away via Dubai will get their holidays too.

Got back from Himalayas this week. Flights went fine in the end. Still awaiting refund of original flights transiting via Doha. I would imagine a few are awaiting refunds.

Photo is looking at one of the 8,000 metre peaks. Bonus if anyone recognises it (without using any internet tools). A joint 60th birthday present to ourselves.
