We do have travel insurance but it doesn't cover a pet illness etc only human. I'll have home insurance but seems unlikely.
Thanks though for tip.

Haute walking route from Chamonix to Zermatt next summer. Booked all the accommodation apart from two huts. Can’t book the latter yet. One night needs a bus down road as all accommodation already booked up. Got flights to book.

Good news there is it will be Swiss buses so they will be reliable and on time

Walked that in summer 2022 with my wife and son and daughter. We camped either wild or on sites such as in Champex. Great route and gets quiet once you leave the TMB behind. My wife and I did it first in 1991 and were amazed by the changes to glaciers this last time round. That’s us in 91 and the same glacier in 2022 where we camped overnight this time! Enjoy!

Short break in Bennidorm coming up in about 3 weeks - never been, I know, but we are there with friends, and the couple we are there with, the bloke's brother lives there, so we'll probably visit the best places to eat (I hope). Then when we get back, I'm home a week then fly out to Spain again for a week riding bikes. Next year, planning South Coast again as MrsF wants to go to Durdle Door, and we didn't have time in May due to our packed schedule.

My holiday plans just changed unfortunately. We were due to fly in the morning to Mallorca for 10 days but our cat has had to have emergency surgery and will need special care in recovery for some time so we've had to cancel hols.
And no we don't get our money back! Plus vets bills are astronomical but that's the price of loving a pet.

No pet insurance?

The forecast for alpine glacier loss is not good. The long distance trekking is coming full circle. Got into long distance backpacking in the 80s, climbing from the 90s, and now returning to the long distance trails.
