Floor went down in the office/mancave today! Insulation cut and fitted between the bearers, all the joins taped and boards nailed down over the top. I've run some network cable under the insulation for a camera and neatened up the cables from the house and garage.

Won't be long until it's ready to wire up now more wood treatment first though!

I shifted several tons of soil yesterday too so we've got a bit more usable space in the garden again now!

I thought I’d jump in with an en suite revamp.
Massive walk in sexy area. Sorry, shower so needed to move a wall. Just about to sort the pipes etc and the floor.
Pain in the backside really but I begrudge paying people to do something I can and at the end it probably wouldn’t be right,

I finished the electrics off in the cabin today Paid a local sparky to connect up the consumer unit a few weeks back, he's going to pop back and test my wiring to issue certificates for building control. I've got my desk set up along side our two turbo trainers, coming on nicely now

It's strange how one job leads to another. My hot water stopped working which I traced to the ball cock having failed (strangely enough it failed and didn't let water in, previously I have had failings where water was let in and out the overflow). Anyhow I fixed that and noticed that there was a load of crud in the bottom of the tank. Suffice it to say I have never cleaned a cold water tank out (and I lived in my previous house for 21 years!! oops) so I've decided to give it bit of a flush and clean. The central heating tank is beside it and I've decided to change the ball cock on that and flush, clean and add inhibitor.
Realistically does anyone do this regularly? Again, in my previous house I never did and I replaced radiators at various times. Perhaps I should have.
I do check things like tanks, pipes etc, but often it's only once a year when getting the Xmas decorations down.

My house, when we moved in almost eight years ago, had two satellite dishes on the outer walls, which have bugged me since then. One is easy enough to get to,but the other is high up and in an awkward place, so, naturally my innate laziness meant that both have been left. Until today. I'm about to have my roof replaced and the scaffolding has been going up this week, so I took the opportunity to get the tricky one down and followed my effort up with getting the second one down. I'm well chuffed.

We've been having the kitchen replaced this week and it's almost done ... just some finishing and then I can get painting.

Working on the master bedroom at the moment. We inherited some pretty overbearing red floral wallpaper which finally tipped us over the edge around a month ago and got torn down in rage. The walls underneath weren't very happy as is usually the way, so I've spent a lot of hours scraping old paint off and making good. I've replaced curtains with blinds, and am in the process of fitting new radiators, the first of which went up this morning. It already looks much nicer than it did with the old wallpaper which isn't conducive to finishing the job 🫣

This is what we were left with once the wallpaper was down amd paint scraping had commenced:

Many Hours later we were back to bare plaster...

With the rads off I cleaned up the walls behind them ready for paint, and removed the brackets to fill the old fixing holes. Ive added a cover where the pipes exit the plaster as this will be visible with the new rads...

I got the first of two small rads hung this morning, not connected as it'll come off again to paint the walls.

I had started prepping and painting my hallway and stairwells, all three floors of them. However, health woes have called a halt. Work will resume when I'm feeling a wee bit better.

@JhnBssll I presume you use soldered joints for rads and things? Any tips, as I tend to use compression joints which work but they look a bit ugly? Having said that, most of my replacement work is in the loft or similar, so it's not seen.
In my recent foray in replacing the water ball cock I pondered the aesthetics of whether I should buy a round ball float or a cylindrical one. But I thought "get a grip who is going to see it?" and in any case, as it turns out there were only the cylindrical type in stock so my hand was forced.

The rad pipework in the new house is all plastic with push fit fittings. Ugly as hell, but I'm not about to re-plumb a whole house again. My preference is soldered joints but I'm not a plumber by any means so just use the Yorkshire solder ring fittings
