How about this for a pre ride meal/drink

Blending anything will break down it's cellular structure and make it absorbed much more quickly. Drinking blended pasta is not the same as eating it whole.

And are you entering the TdF? They literally barely have enough time to eat all the calories they need to eat. Normally humans with access to cooked food do not have to spend very long eating.

But if you do find food a hassle, then soylent may be for you https://www.soylent.com/

The cellular structure of pasta is very fragile, which is why care needs to be taken when harvesting it from the pasta bush.

"Yeah, but pasta is made from atoms, right?"

OK, responding with a paraphrase from a 50+ year old John Wyndham pastiche that doesn't seem to exist on the internet is probably lacking the rhetorical punch I was hoping for  but surely you agree that blending pasta will change the slow release properties the OP was seeking to exploit?

While I still possess teeth, I prefer to always eat proper food that requires mastication ;)

@Accy cyclist if you really want to make a drink with sugar and slow release carbs, how about an oatmeal smoothie? In my food processor, I'd put oatmeal in a dry processor and whiz it until it was a powder, then add dairy (milk or yogurt) and whatever else you wanted, fruit - fresh or frozen - juice, sugar, honey etc, even peanut butter. And a breakfast smoothie won't earn you weird looks like blending pasta** would.

**especially as someone went to a lot of effort to turn a wheat flour slurry into pasta, and you are now turning it back into a wheat flour slurry.

Indeed and take some cash in case you feel dodgy and need to buy something. Or stick a wrapped flapjack in a pocket

Anyhow, No one other than pros should be riding 50 miles without a cake stop anyhow!
