How can Donhou charge £2300 for an off the shelf 853 frame?

Interesting. I own two pieces of Rapha kit. Both bought pre-loved off here or other forums. No one else's quality in equivalent garments comes close. Not just my opinion but that of a couple of the professional garment makers in the family.

If I could justify (key word here, rather than saying afford) buying a frame for that sort of money, it wouldn't be that one, just because it doesn't do it for me, then I'm a recreational cyclist and choose based on brand and colour (I've never heard of Donhou and I don't like the colour so...)

Have you compared 'em? In the flesh. I have looked at plenty. Not all finished to the same standards. So perhaps not so comparable after all.

I'm guessing Citius has that other, all too common affliction, that afflicts so many cyclists; being unable to understand why anyone else would choose to pay more for a sort of thing than s/he would be prepared to pay what s/he insists is a similar sort of thing, and being so certain s/he is right and they are wrong then they must be mugs.

Mont Blanc pen anyone? Rolex watch? Only mugs buy 'em.
