How cold does it need to be to have an affect on your ride?

I've been out in Glasgow 4 days in a row this week. Not big miles , but still good to be out.
This morning was a bit chilly , but no frost , just some fog.
Yesterday was foggy all day but didn't feel as cold.
Wednesday night after 10 it was getting close to freezing when I got in but I still felt fine.

My main concern is ice.

Aye I think I’m the same as above. When the roads get icy it’s a problem but apart from that there’s nothing a bit of extra/different clothing can’t sort. Or sod it, find some more hills.

As long as the roads aren't icy, my favourite ride is when it's as cold as possible and I'm riding to work down the back lanes in my shorts, t-shirt and coat in the pitch black around 5.30am. Warm weather is lovely, but there's something strangely wonderful about a frosty early morning ride.

To be honest, I haven't ridden since I posted this thread. I normally enjoy the frosty morning's as they are quite pleasant, and I'm no stranger to tackling it when it's minus 6 maybe a bit more. I think the week before was -8. I think the low level bug suggestion was probably the closest as without the coughing and spluttering, my muscles have started to ache pretty much all over but nothing too much just enough to let you know something is going on. I think a few days rest is in order.
