How deep would you go?

I would of course as a gentleman, go first, but by sheer coincidence my bike always seems to develop mechanical troubles before stretches of water and it would be reckless to enter said water with a bike not functioning correctly, would it not?

You do indeed fib. It's a fixed, they don't go wrong !

I've only gone slightly deeper than the bottom of my pedals, when it's been OK to coast through - usually on my fixed so unclip both feet and let the bike roll. I won't go through anything that's over the bottom of my shoes or indeed near any bearings.
