By the way, my screen monitor or whatever they're called is playing up like billyo today. It's flickering like mad. It is 10 years old so maybe it's time for a new one. So if i don't reply to replies straight away you know why.

Not necessarily the screen, usually when these go wonky at work it is the computer end that is the problem. Could also just be the cable has had a kink or bash. If you can, try things in a different machine before spending out on new hardware you may not need.

Right, i think i've sorted the screen out. Last night my desk lamp's bulb blew up sending bits of bulb all over the place. So i fastened a clamp on type light to the screen. I must've clamped it too hard and it's squeezed the screen causing it to flicker.
I wish people wouldn't collude with these sort of questions by actually answering them.
Just imagine what would have happened if nobody had responded to "Shall I invade Poland?", "Does Iraq have WMD?" and "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?"

You sure it is the monitor ?, my monitors been doing this occasionally recently , started after I downloaded windows 10 , after some googling I think it is the graphics card/windows 10 compatibility causing the problem ..
