Raise your profile locally by getting the local newspapers involved.

Unless you are doing something that captures the public's imagination, interested from further afield is likely to be very limited.

you WILL raise three as much or more than you would with a traditional sponsorship form.

few people will hand over £10 or £20 in cash, but they may well sign off £20 on a credit card at the comfort of their own desk - then their is the GiftAid 28% on top.

We aimed for £2000, started a justgiving page, and over 2 events raised over £40,000.

you can spam your entire email address list with the justgiving address, and see how it goes!

also, try and get the known big spenders to sign up early.
It's a good guilt-trip to get others to give you a few more pounds than they otherwise would.

if the norm is a fiver, you'll get lots of fivers

If the early norm is a tenner, then you'll do far better.
