Was listening to the radio earlier a a good % of callers and presenters said they like their spoon to stand up in the coffee.
Now I don't like weak coffee, just 'mediuum' suits me.
I prefer quite strongish coffee but with extra milk so it get plenty of flavour but it's not too bitter.
How about you.

Black
One teaspoon in a mug
one and a half if it is a big mug

and decent coffee - not basic instant

I like decent coffee out - but at home i prefer good quality instant

never with milk in it
and when I ask for black Americano in coffee place I find it annoying how often it comes with a jug of milk!!!

I don't know if it's related to long covid, age (51) or whatever...

But at home I've gone from loving instant or ground coffee with ~2cm of milk in my mug, to it often giving me less pleasure and frequent acid reflux.

I now need ~4cm of milk in a mug to usually enjoy coffee like I used to until ~4 years.

Medium roast, I quite like Ethiopian origin, but South America works as well, depends what I can get.

Reasonably fine grind, usually through a pour over or Aeropress.

I only drink whenever possible "proper" coffee. That is fresh brewed from freshly ground beans. I've got a good integrated machine at home so use that and it delivers excellent coffee on par or better than most cafes do.
I also like it strong with milk.

Fairly strong but I have 2 sugars and a bit of milk. I dislike milky and/or weak coffee. I have to have 2 sugars whatever. I do like a Costa or "bought" coffee as long as it's a flat white. I don't like them lattes or capuccinos much.

I went through a phase of having very strong coffee but it gives me indigestion. The ultimate coffee for me is strong, with cream and 2 sugars

I've tried a fair few machines and methods and have settled on grinding my own beans medium/coarse, 3 scoops into an aeropess and finishing with some hot aerated milk to make a strong latte. Have experimented with amongst others Lavazza Rossa and Cafe Borbone (my favourite to date) but have settled on Amazon House Blend medium roast as a good balance between flavour and cost. I buy 1kg bags which works out pretty cheap. Not as good as an espresso in a good independent cafe but better than Costa et al and about 50p a cup versus a fiver or whatever they charge.
