How do you prepare your bike for winter ?

The dedicated cycle paths are ice here today and have been the last few days - The rain last night though had made them dangerous.
I will be commuting the bus routes now. I must remember to oil my chain 2 !
Year 2 of having to leave my bike outside this winter.

I give it a damned good talking to and tell it to MTFU and behave itself.

Pretty much what I do, though in a gentler fashion. I tend to say: "Bike - winter is here. It would be very much appreciated if you were on your best behaviour for the next 3 months. Remember, I can always take the car / bus instead and leave you to fester in the shed, and you wouldn't like that would you? No. So... you just remember what we've talked about and let's be nice to each other."
