happened to me just this morning.... I typed 'summ' into google and the top suggestion in the auto-fill was Summer of Rockets ....how the feck did it know I was searching for that??? Can't be via my history or cookies.

I just typed in summer in google and summer of rockets came up first , google must be scanning open internet pages as I search on another tab.

I don't think it's quite that simple. Google Analytics is used by the lion's share of websites to analyse traffic, so just avoiding Google sites won't help.

If you want to stop being tracked, switch to using something like Ghostery. And a VPN.
