£140 quid - a Rockhopper off eBay with a leaking back disc brake, probably another 50 quid for rigid forks - new tyres, a spare brake and the other odd bit were kicking about. Probably still nickable, but everything looking well worn, not scared of leaving it locked in town. Think I would use a real trash bike if needed to leave it locked up for hours/overnight tho.

I have two bikes - GT Nomad Sport which cost me £160 (RRP £300). Plus a Dawes Ultra Galaxy at £999 (RRP at the time £1200).
I use either depending on the weather. So if it is raining the GT comes out. I don't tend to lock either up at work as it's a secure site. If in doubt over the locale I'll take the GT out, much rather that got stolen or damaged!

I've got me a yellow bike, stripped down. It's got a columbus steel frame, old 105 rear mech, Mavic open pro wheels, titanium saddle and TT brakes and bars. It goes like the clappers but it's a pretty hard and unyielding frame which means you feel every pimple on the road.

I've ticked bloody hell....... My MTB is old but is mainly XT and LX - just falls into that category if I was to try and replace it. Real value then £300-£400

My other two bikes are way into 'bloody hell' range, the 'cheaper' Ribble is used as a backup commuter/sunny weather/long ride home bike.

My new (yet to be aquired) commuter will be about £1k (courtessy of CTW)

Arg - I'm not even counting my bottle cages in my total, I'm definitely not adding it all up like that!

Note sure since I've had it for almost twenty years but times were hard back then so it won't have been too pricey! Nowadays, I reckon the two new tyres are probably worth more than the rest of it.....

Out of those I use regularly, the folder's the only one I bought specifically for commuting - £60 from Morrisons!
It's actually holding up remarkably well (since replacing the original headset). Had its first unexpected deflation event this morning though.
