Light years away from my target of 2000. Started well at beginning of year but out of the blue my lovely wife diagnosed with a serious illness and massive amount of times been spent at or in hospitals and looking after her. Love my bike but not nearly as much as my wife.
Hoping for better next year on both fronts.
Post put silly targets in to perspective here's hoping for good news on both fronts next year

Didnt have a target for this year as only got back into cycling mid may, bought a road bike in june and have reached around 5100 miles..reached the 5000 a few weeks ago and wanted to then get to 10000 kms because its a nice figure and was achievable at the time but a few weeks off the bike have put an end to that target. If I dont clock another mile this year,Im still very happy with the total.

That's an impressive total since May :notworthy:. Have you considered any of the monthly challenges on here ? Bit of extra incentive to get some miles in

I don't set a target mileage, but I expect to be somewhere between 4000 and 5000 miles by the end of the year. This year I'm currently a smidge over 4300 miles for the year. I missed the first three weeks of January this year and my Good lady has been unwell for the last few weeks so I'm pleased with that

I caught the bug and started commuting,24 miles each way.Met a lot of good lads on the commute which keeps you motivated.I went a couple of times this week and hyping myself up for next week.Really enjoy it.Next year I plan on getting out at the weekends for some leisure riding.

I had a 7500 mile target, which included LEL.

The operation in September was brought forward and has had some complications meaning more time off the bike and shorter rides only allowed. As a result I'm currently at 7040 miles and probably will get another 150-ish in before the end of the month.

So I'll be about 300 miles short but still happy as I finished LEL.

On a rough calculation I should be one cycle commute off with eight cycle commutes to go.

On the plus point I've put 2000+ miles in on the turbo (since late May) and it shows.Fitness is much better and weight has been lost.

Way short.
I've set myself a 2000 mile target for the past few years, which I met in 2013 and again easily last year, the two years in between I managed 1800.
This year I'm not up to 1400 yet - I got fixated on a new (indoor) hobby which took up much of the spare time from work that would otherwise have been spend cycling.
Still need one more half century for the monthly challenge as well.

If target means more than last year i am way off it! Last year without looking it up,i did around 5000 miles and that was with 3 months off due to 2 broken hips. I'm sure i would've beaten my all time yearly best of 8,700 if that hadn't happened. This year i'll be lucky if i've reached 2000 miles. I'll find out when i total my miles up in a couple of weeks time. I won't be downbeat though as one year (i think it was 2008) i managed only 11 miles!
