My commute is over 15 miles via the shortest route, but over 16 if i go via roads. Sometimes i'll take 'long' cuts tho & my longest commute was 25 miles :reading: We dont have showers installed yet, but i'm working on it. At present our main toilet block is closed & we have one small toilet, so there isn't even enough room for a strip wash, so i've resorted to a wipe down with baby wipes

My commute is too short to really warrant a shower (3.5-5miles depending on my route), although it would help in a summer like this when quite often I've been wearing a rain jacket. I just commute in my work trowsers and a cycling shirt (+jacket & overtrowsers if need be), when I get to work I just change my top and use lots of de-odourant.
I used to live further (17.5miles) for that I would do is take the train in the morning so I wasn't sitting, sweating in the office and cycle home at night where I could get a shower (PS I didn't bother with sweaty overtrowsers for this distance and would wear shorts or 3/4's instead)

Hmm - mine's just shy of 6 miles... so I don't fit any category. :reading:

I've put myself in the 6 - 10 miles though cuz I don't want to appear to be a wuss.;)

I cheat, I get the train to Glasgow where my cycle distance is only 1.5 miles from the station to the office. On my way home, I get off the train early at either Polmont (22 miles) or Linlithgow (17 miles) and complete the journey by bike. The beauty of this routine is that I do not need a shower on my way into work, but I can have a good work out on the way home.

The shortest route is only 6 miles, but if the weather is decent (read it is not pi**ing it down), I take the scenic route, which can be anything from 10 to 30 miles.

The direct route is more or less bang on 3 miles each way. Sometimes I go another route which is longer, or call in at the allotment, etc.

Your biggest category isn't big enough - my one way is 23 miles.

I must admit I often "cheat" and take the train one way, which only drops 12 miles. After a ride in, and a day's skating, I'm still not quite fit enough to cycle both ways 5 days a week.
