How hard are you?

So who sticks to lycra shorts, and a jersey with one more layer on top of that throughout the whole of winter? I'm thinking of grimacing through the winter and doing this, purely for the space saving aspect for when I'm walking around at uni, and the fact that it may be refreshing
I think hands, and head are gonna be the one's to keep warm - seeing as I have a number 2 up top, and also need the dexterity in the hands.

I love shorts and wear them for as late into the Year as possible, however.......

I do suffer with my knees and keping them warm under longs seems to help a lot.

Used to do it trackies, t-shirt and thin fleece, helmet and normal shoes and socks. Family used to comment on the steam floating off my back.

Last 2 winters have been so cold that I've added extra layers. I even wore mountaineering socks (the ones over your knees) in and out of work. This winter should be quite warm if the Met are to be beleived.

I remember reading somewhere that if you freeze your knees they will get their revenge by developing arthritis or mange or something. I wouldn't risk it personally. Do I think 'Ooh, you're hard' when I see someone riding in shorts in zero or therabouts? I do not. I think 'what a tosspot'.

I like to look after myself during the commutes so I can go out on the bike properly at the weekends. So I'm soft - still in shorts but not for long.

I would but it's my knees that suffer. Try going 35mph downhill in shorts under 5 degree C and you'll soon be reaching for the longs

What bunch of wusses...
I cycle in just my thong all year round, the only concession to sub zero weather being rubbing my meat and 2 veg with anti-freeze before setting out.
