hi all,

at 8.55am this morning my son and i were stationary at the end of the the slip road of junction 13 m65 (paulb will know it well). a bloody car came screaming down the road out of control on the slippy damp road and wrote my car off. we both had to go to hospital to be xrayed. we both are ok but feel a bit 'weird'. doctors say it's normal after a big shunt. anybody else had this? if so how long did it last? was hoping to do critical mass on friday and mtl on saturday or sunday. will it be gone by then?

You're obviously concussed, as you haven't told us when this happened.

If you are still feeling nauseous 24 hours after the event, get back to the hospital.

If you did hit your head then that would be concussion and it's worth checking out at hospital otherwise it's remnants of being shocked by the events.

Glad to hear you're ok -you should be back and running in a day or so - different for most people but take it easy.

Sorry to read of your bad luck. Fortunately you and your son weren't seriously injured. Wrt to your continuing nausia it would be prudent to pay a visit to your GP.

no, no direct impact apart from the headrests. when the police came they said he told them it was raining and he couldn't see. wonder why he was lying? at such an early stage. also he was obviously hurt himself but refused to go to the hospital. shame about the car, my wife is on holiday and won't know her beloved red micra will be no more (well i'll be surprised if it's fixed) until she gets back. i won't tell her, i think it will spoil her holiday worrying.

best as you say to leave this after she gets back - especially if there's nothing that can be done anyway.

See how you both feel after today and if you're still worried and still nauseous get yourself to the GP or hospital.

Hi Shaun, sorry to hear about this but thank God you're both okay. Was the bloke insured? The weird feeling is probably due to shock. I expect they will write off the car, especially if it's an old model.

sorry to here that shaun - i know where you mean.... did they do a breath test on the other chap?

hope you feel better tomorrow but as the forum says go to your gp or nearest hospital could just be the effects of whiplash and shock

no it's an 07 'sport' with fancy wheels motor and she loves it for it's 'sporty looks'. took 6 months for her to choose it.

that particular junction (barrowford turn off for the college) is notoriously bad for standing traffic so he should of known to slow down. drivers also regularly jump into it straight from the fast lane into the rhs of the slip road, then cross back to lhs to queue jump. obviously today with the greasy roads he got it wrong, the skids mark went for about 200 yards, from nearly at the top of the slip road. the shunted a good 6 foot forward. we both got ambulanced to blackburn.

do you know tho that drivers were still whizzing past whilst the recovery lorry, ambulance and police were trying to sort the mess out. both ambulance drivers wanted to shut it in the end because of dickhead drivers getting to close, on a bloody slip road!!!!

You're probably fine, it's probably not concussion (but worth keeping it in mind). I've managed to roll a car before (it was during a legitimate motorsport event though, the road was closed etc etc).

Lots of adrenaline and so on - make sure you have some sugary stuff (and possibly some salty stuff). If it's not better tomorrow morning go to the GP or hospital. And have a good sleep tonight. You'll probably be exhausted pretty early.

Glad to hear you're OK!
