A number one allover. It's going to fall out later in life anyway. So bite the bullet now.As a baldy,i can tell you,you can have some great conversations with people, when they ask,how did you get those tiger stripes on your head.just tell them you are a cyclist and the sun shines through the vents.

I haven’t cut my hair for years. Is down the middle of my back. For work (gardener) and cycling I put it in a man bun or a Viking plait as it is wavy and gets super tangled otherwise.

Long hair is ‘part of me’ so I don’t want to go too crazy*. So how long for a 44 year old with a hair crisis?

*Must suit my beard which I’ve had since birth.
Short enough so it doesn't get tangled in your chain

Is it receding/thinning?
If not, just trim the split ends.

No. A good head of hair. Haven’t checked for split ends yet. I’ll get a torch later.

Will the beard be cut as well?

No, I’ll keep it as is I think. Fairly tidy despite the mess above.

What really surprises me is that this thread has received triple the number of replies to a thread where I asked advice about brake pads in an ‘inth of the time. Should I report you all to the mods for inappropriate interest on a cycling forum?

Lovely though. :hugs:

It'll make any hair cut seem odd though.

You'll be cutting more than one I take it.

It's a good call. I think people should express their own style as far as they can, but agree with the posts above: if it is visibly thinning (and check with your friends, often you're the last to know) then it's time for it to go. Long hair on a mostly bald head is unspeakably sad.

As you get older hair can become more brittle and brittle hairs break easily. The overall look is less sleek and shiny than younger hair. There comes a point where it's best to cut it at least to the length of the shorter broken hairs.
I have theory that long hair puts years on a middle aged man.
