How many calories in a fly?

Not many, but a lot of bacteria.
 
Depends on whether you chase it down with a spider - a bird - a cat - a dog - etc. etc. Lots of calories by the time you get to the horse...

A couple of weekends back I was riding through some forest, my mouth was open to get the oxygen in ... a fly went in, made me gag, I tried to hack it back up like a cat, but it was too late! I'd swallowed it!

Also, I present you with deep-fried cockroaches - photo taken when I was in Thailand. No, I didn't even consider buying one! I looked and thought, "you have got to be yanking my chain!" So a photo had to be taken:

The thing that I worry about when swallowing flies is the fact that they live on shoot and decay. There's a risk of coming down with some horrible disease or catching worms.
Has anyone been poorly or caught worms from swallowing flies?
