Couldn't agree more about lack or reviews and generally lack of decent cycle specific decent looking ladies clothing

Funny, that doesn't bother me in the slightest. Mind you, I look like a sack of spuds whatever I wear and clothing comes very low on my list of priorities.

It's only started to really bother me now that I use my bike to get to social things, like shopping in town or going for lunch on the weekends. I've just bought a lovely pannier that looks like a normal bag and has a zip-up bit over the hooks so it can be carried like a handbag. Took me ages to find it though. My big, red Alturas that I use for work are just not great for socialising with.

Nah, bags don't really do it for me either <listen as mother weeps with quiet despair at lack of girlishness>.

Although, Helen, I was keen on your Arkel rack pack.

I once saw a coat I liked that wasn't the usual hi-vis, more like a belted 3/4 length coat, but waterproof. Trouble is, I can't remember the name of the website I saw in on, except it was a Dutch bike maunfacturer.

And it was terribly expensive.

Aha! But what about the Knog cycle mitts?????

Hmm, a quick look suggests a lack of padding at the base of the thumb, where I want it most.

I really am very ungirly, thank goodness my sister makes up for it.

I am going to sound like an old fart now, but the range of women's bike clothing that's now available on eg wiggle.com or chainreactioncycles.com is truly HUGE compared to what was available just 5 years ago. I actually have a choice now!

I was at Glentress the other weekend at at least 50% of the riders there were female, which, again is a massive increase from 5 - 10 years ago when there was hardly anyone. I think it's fantastic myself.
