How minging are you?

This is prompted by yet another "lively debate" with my wife.

She believes that clothes should be washed after each time of wearing. I reckon a top will last for a few hours of running or cycling.

I normally run or ride 6 days a week and, in my opinion, 6 changes of clothes would be a bit of a burden on the washing & drying front. She reckons that although I don't smell rancid (until about Thursday) it doesn't mean I'm not clarty.

I was wondering if I am a minger, or are there other people like me who keep a pile of clothes that aren't clean, but aren't dirty either?

God, by your standards I must reek! I ride an hour a day, give or take, hard. A certain amount of sweat is involved, even in the midwinter. I change t-shirt every day, but longs/shorts, shirt and jersey I wash once a week. In the summer, shorts and jersey weekly.

I wash after every wear. They are very quick drying (after a machine wash) and no ironing is required.

Bunch of mingers for sure - commute = clean bib shorts and socks both directions but re-use top layers for the journey home. Whole lot gets washed every night, I need at least 4 sets of bib shorts and 2 sets of top layers to keep this cycle feasible. If bikester style leggings are needed then they get worn for both trips but washed daily as well. Gloves are done weekly and the Night Vision jacket rarely as not worn much. Oh yeah fresh towel daily as well.

As I do all washing and ironing in the house then it's fairly easy to keep on top of, though even I don't iron commuting gear.

Everthing gets washed once a week - apart from the gloves which get through two weeks.

Ride 2 hours daily and sweat plenty.

Wife is same as yours - wants to wash them daily, but I insist on getting a week out of them.

Oh and yes.... they stink by Wed/Thur.

The tipping point for me, to change certain garments is, when my clothes lose their smell and develop an odour. If others have a problem with that then, well......

Twice a week for all my cycling gear. The merino base layer and socks last very well without getting smelly. This week I've made them last 4 days but will be washed tonight ready fro the FNRttC.
In the summer shorts and jerseys last a couple of days.

I'm obviously a minger, perhaps that's why I'm not married
