i carry £10 when i'm out on the bike
for emergencies, i never stop in a cafe or pub. personally i just ride, can't afford to and don't see any appeal to stop personally

the most important thing for me in life to always have with me (whilst it does sound sad) is my phone, not for facebook or snapchat but for emergencies. if i'm out driving a tractor down a busy A road and my total rig weighs over 20 tons the very last thing i want is to be stuck on a blind corner with a puncture and no way of contacting a local mobile agricultural tyre company
same on the bike, if god forbid my frame were to snap or a wheel just collapsed or i had an emergency medical issue the last thing i want to be is stuck in the middle of bugger all or sprawled over the white lines of a busy A road with no way to contact either 999, family or friends... and no the public does not always stop to help as i have found out once or twice :/

especially important for me seeing as my life is the highest risk and highest death rate industry... farming. a tenner is so good, a grand is even more useful but it still won't get you out of the very worst situations!
Cheers Ed

I have had the same £20 note for months, everything is on Applepay. They even take it in the canteen and in the coffee bar at work. If i stop when i am out on the bike I use the phone to pay but I still take the well travelled £20 note with me.

The other day I found out i could use my phone to travel on the Underground in London, brilliant not to have to queue for a ticket

Bike wallet £10 and normal wallet whatever remains of the last ATM which may have been weeks ago. Visit to ATM is when the last £20 note is broken up. Cash is for village market stalls, knick knacks etc.

Daily, maybe £10-£20.

If out then I take cash for pubs/taxi (but that's not often).

On the other hand, we can't convince my MIL it is safer to leave cash in the bank that having hundreds and more stashed about the house, especially when we manage all her bills and she goes out once a week for food.

On the bike, a tenner folded into my mobile phone wallet, an extra 20 if I intend visiting a cafe.
Otherwise, a credit card and whatever else happens to be in my wallet, 0 to 100.

A ten or twenty in one of these on my keys. Can be there for weeks or longer. Rarely use coins anymore, they end up in car for parking. Gez

Never less than a tenner (or Norwegian equivalent) but normally £30-£50, plus about a fiver in change. And relevant cards.

On the bike £20 plus some change.

In the car £20 plus a bunch of change for parking, supermarket trolley, a coffee etc.
