Alcohol isn't a big part of my life; some weeks I don't drink anything at all, most weeks a couple of beers at a cost of £2.00 to £6.00 depending on where I buy them - Booths supermarket £1 promo bottles or draft down at the local. Chuck in a couple of glasses of wine from the bottle in the kitchen and I seldom exceed £7.00 in a week, most weeks probably no more than £3.00.

So how much do you spend?

these days maybe £100 a year which is scary considering that when Jane and I first met we could blow that between us in a weekend no problem.

Far too much, and I have done most years since I was 18 except when I decided to stop drinking to concentrate on getting my degree, getting fit or staying sane!

I really must cut back again to more sensible levels. I'd never do what you do though. I either like a clear head or to get slightly sloshed so it is nowt or 4 or 5 pints a night for me these days. When I was young it was nowt or 10-12 pints, but as I am getting older my tolerance for booze and interest in it are declining. I think 3 pints a night would be the cut-off at which I'd finally decide that I wouldn't bother any more.

I used to make a lot of homebrew started at 13/14 by the plastic dustbin full. 2 dustbins on the go up to about 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabeties. These days I spend about £10 on a small bottle of whiskey per month.

I spend about £20-£30 - most of that's during Christmas office parties.

I don't drink at home

It is hard to calculate that, considering I go for ages without drinking anything, and then I have one great splu.... Spluuuuuu..... Spwluuurrrgggggaaaaa! On one night.

Not after the last time though, oh no ( no genuinely, due to various reasons).

About 6 months ago I was spending upwards of £50 a week comfortably (student). However now it is less than a tenner a week because I'm fed up of 'wasting' so much money, and being unfit.

Nil, I'm a "double espresso macchiato" total.
Should the occasion warrant it :hungry: a good red wine priced at least a tenner is a must.
