I had a ride out this morning and was really enjoying it. As I was nearing home I noticed that I was catching up with a guy riding what looked to me like a nice old bike. The rider was dressed in everyday clothes so I don't think that he had cycled in from any distance and assume that he was a local man. As I caught up with him I could tell that the bike was in pristine condition and could not help but admire it.I drew alongside and saw that it was a Woodrup road bike and as I passed, I said "nice Bike" . He replied F*** **F! I must have upset him somehow unless he was just having a bad day, whatever the reason it completely spoiled my morning.

my day was spoilt by the news Gerry Anderson (thunder birds) had died:sad:

Pity the bike ..... it has this poor excuse for a man on it.
Don't let a twat ruin your day EVER AGAIN!!!!

He probably thought you were a 'Lycra lout' taking the piss as you scalped him. Maybe if you'd have followed it up with one thing like 'No seriously, that's a Woodrup' isn't it?' he had been struck down with embarrassment and apologised.

Alternatively he was just a nobber.

It didn't spoil my day, but I had an unusual response from the only cyclist I saw all day. I was only doing about 12mph as I overtook and mentioned getting home in the failing light before we needed to switch on the lights. "if I don't die first" was his reply.
