How pleased would you be to holiday alone?

Touring solo, sure, no problems. But this is a week were I was anticipating others to book for the same week. In fact, it's partly the reason I booked!

Got to say, I got rather lonely doing the LEJOG on my own with only cafe or B+B staff to talk to. OTOH I could make all my own decisions when and where to go and stop, what pace to go at, or upsetting anyone else with my mistakes.

I agree yello - I would be cheesed off. I would even cancel the holiday. Did they promise a group experience?

I cycled from Grenada to Seville a few years ago with a van carrying our bags and water/food. It was the company that kept me going uo 12000m passes in June with no shade.

And in the evening the shared experiences that made the holiday.

A group/gite thing could be nice, but clearly the hols aren't selling... if it was me, I'd go with it, and look forward to a week of being at least partly provided for... rides with routes suggested, no pressure. Depends if you're the sort of person who likes their own company. Sounds ideal to me!

No promises, no. But photos of groups. It's just a risk one takes I guess. Nobody's fault. I won't cancel, I still want to do the cycling as the region looks fabulous. It's just a bit of a disappointment that's all.

Exactly. I rarely get the chance to chat in English these days (and my French isn't good enough to chat) so I was genuinely looking forward to evenings of talking nonsense! The organisers will be around but I can't assume to intrude on them!

Depends if you're the sort of person who likes their own company.

I am, in fact I prefer it! Bit of a loner truth told.
