How to “age a Claud Butler Enduro MTB”?

Thanks to all of you for your help with both dating the age of the bike and for help with cleaning and which parts to renew etc. I sent an email and picture to the people who now own the Claud Butler brand and they came back with it as being a 1999 model which is the decade that all of you were placing it in. Many thanks again.

My gut feeling is this is a turn of the century vintage rather than a 1990's job. CB used to make some nice Reynolds framed MTB's in the early 90's but these were lugged & brazed not welded.
