Well he would say that, wouldn't he. In reality the problem is that tenants' rights don't go nearly far enough.
A bit of both obviously. Tenants can come into a property and never pay a penny in rent. Housing benefit pay them the rent and they keep it.
But a standard tenancy says the landlord can give you two months notice. If the tenant holds out he can stay put for 6 months and either wreck the property or demand the landlord give him a good reference.
On the other hand is two month notice reasonable? I know a couple given 2 months notice after paying rent on a property for 15 years. Made me sick just thinking about it.

PS putting all your eggs in one basket...not a good move. Unless you intend on buying more properties then you are doing the equivalent of buying shares in one company....and one considered safe would have been.....a bank.

Off topic but they could do the same with all the payday loan companies by giving an advance on the benefit due.
They do, they can borrow up to £600 from the DSS (call it what you want) and repay it out of their dole (call it what you want) at zero interest. Note the £600 was based on what a mate got about 10 years ago.

That's cheap
We are £300 just for putting it on the local Property Centre web (where most people look first).
We supplied the pics and will do everything else.
I think I get a good deal with them as I gave them their first job when they opened their Belvoir franchise. I get them to just find the tenant and not get involved in the AST or deposit.
