I have bought a new bike with a part carbon frame. In particular it has a natty integrated seatpost in carbon. I also have a CO2 pump held on with Zefal rubber mountings and velcro straps. I am concerned these will scratch the paint and in particular the carbon.

Any ideas?

Stick some duct tape over the frame before you mount the fittings. Won't enhance the looks though.

You can get sheets of protective sticky patches - clear, black and 'carbon effect', possibly some colours - I find these good for anywhere cables rub etc. They could be what you're after.

I cut up a spare tube, and sandwiched cutouts where required.
For brake cable rub, cut up small strips of self amalgamating tape, stretch and wrap around outer brake cable rub points.

i'd be concered with the glue reacting with the paint/carbon fibre - so wrap up with inner and some electrical tape over it to keep it ihn place.
