How to reconnect bike dynamo cable that snapped?

My bike has a front wheel dynamo powering the lights. Somehow the wires, which are threaded mostly inside the frame, snapped between the frame and the front fork. There is only a very small length of wire left protruding from the frame, although I can pull a little more than is seen below. How might I re-connect the two sections of wire? There is so little to work with.

You can get tongue and groove connectors for this problem; they're the same as the plugs to connect to the lights with a male and female version. You'll need a short length of heat-shrink tube to cover them as well when you are finished.

Alternatively, solder the wires together then cover them with the same heat-shrink.

Whichever method is used, make certain that the heatshrink material is on the wire(s)before joining the ends.

Tie some string/fishing line to the wire, then pull it back up through the fork, followed by the piece you'll be connecting it to.
Do the repair at the top, then pull it back through with the same line once repaired.
