how to remove the static from my fleecy bathrobe?

my polyester fleece bathrobe is full of static.

I take it off and my arm hairs are all on end.
There's couple of tiny bits of foil stuck to it.
I can pull them off but letting go within a couple of inches, they go straight back to the fabric (quite fun in the short term).

It wasn't like this before i washed it

Earth it to the green/yellow wire on your domestic electricity supply.
Going downstairs to the neighbors in a bathrobe with your hair standing on end might not elicit the type of response you're looking for.

Go outside, take it off, and do a snow angel. That should short it out.

I was going to suggest rolling around in the snow but the above should solve it. Either way, a naked snow angel's surely to get some sort of response

Alternatively, put your bathrobe on and grab the bath tap (which is probably earthed).

True, but I think the electrical regs say that any metalwork in bathrooms ought to be earth bonded. I could be wrong.
