Ask her to watch 7 pounds. Even you could get the DVD as a gift.

It is a great movie from Will Smith. Same subject different effects on life.

Video her doing it & post it on YouTube.

Video her doing it and report her to plod and hand in the footage.

Personally I'd grab the phone off her when she was doing it and toss it out of the window before she kills someone.

My ex and I once reported her Dad for drink-driving. We'd been on at him for a while as we knew he was doing it, but he came out with the 'I'm a better, more relaxed driver after a few drinks" excuse. A few drinks meant sharing 4 bottles of wine with three other people, having a couple of liquers and perhaps a pint or two then driving home. No amount of pleading worked, nor did the 'How would you feel if you killed someone like your new grandaughter?' line. One night we couldn't live with the guilt of keeping quiet and possibly being complicit in someone being hurt or killed, so we rang the police.

Unfortunately, my ex-father-in-law decided to pop into the supermarket that night on the way home to do some shopping. The police called us back to say they'd been sitting at his home address waiting for him to arrive so they could breathalyse him, but after waiting for a while they had to give up and attend another matter. So he escaped & continued his old ways. Glad I'm no longer aware of what he's up to.

It doesn't have to be a cricket bat round the head, Jezston might not have a cricket bat.

It could be an old pair of 531 taper tube forks up two of her orifices.

I wonder if a relative could call your sister and say that you had an accident because of a driver who was using the phone while driving?

Would that be too harsh?

Or you could walk around the house aimlessly whilst texting a mate and 'accidentally' bump into her, headbutting her at the same time, and then falling on her in a WWF body slam as she collapses. :B)

Then explain that you're 'sorry but didn't see you 'cos I was texting'

I would go with the reporting to Police route. If she has regular driving habits and will be more likely to be using her phone at a particular time then the Police can wait for her there.

It probably won't have any more effect then to make her annoyed about the fine and the 'waste of police time' but she can always be reported again if she carries on.

Alternatively you could get hold of her licence and return it to DVLA as not needed and then contact the insurance and cancel that as well. However, do tell her before she gets back in the car.
If that is a bit severe then cancel her phone contract instead.

Tell her to stop being a stupid cow before she kills herself or someone else, actually I quite like ventoux50's suggestion.

Lol, I'm not doubting that it's illegal, simply saying that that should not be the reason why someone chooses not to text whilst driving, the moral issues and potential threat of injuring others and ones self should be the catalyst for change.

I have to admit that prior to that piece of legislation coming in, I did occasionally read texts and send short replies (i could touch text on my old phone) while driving slowly in traffic but mainly at traffic lights but didn't do it as a matter of course

It wasn't the legislation that changed me doing this, and thankfully I had no near misses or any incidents, I knew it probably did affect my concentration and Mrs Blacksheep said one day that she'd prefer it if I didn't,

that was that.
