2010 started off good dropping weight by about 12 pounds and performing well on a couple of sportives heading into the summer.

The second half of the year seems to have dipped and have now put on weight with an injury rolling into the snowy weather meant I had a total spell of circa six weeks of no cycling then a dirty flu type cold delayed me for another five days or so. I am now beginning the gruelling turbo sessions hoping to get back to a reasonable weight to start off 2011 in the shape I was at the beginning of 2010.

Been an OK year for me, threats of redundancy last year seem to have passed.
Not lost any weight which is disappointing but only myself to blame, been very undisciplined.
Lost my Grandad a few weeks back which was the low point of the year, got to see a lot of family that I'd lost touch with though.

It been a good year for me. Changed job in April and was able to start commuting on a regular basis by bike. 20 miles daily help with fitness and general well being. Completed a couple of 100km rides and almost completed 2000 miles in 9 months. The last few weeks have been bad and doing the mileage on the turbo. Don't understand why time on turbo does not count for your annual mileage. Really looking forward to 2011.

2010.
I would never have thought that I would have another child, let alone actually want another one to be honest, especially as I am in my mid 40's. Henry has reinvigorated and re-energised me far more then I could have ever believed possible. He has made me so happy.
Son number 1 hasn't had a chance to meet his younger brother yet so is coming to stay over Christmas and I am so looking forward to them meeting and being brothers.

Work this year has been very tough, the hardest year I have ever had in my time in the business, enough to make me want to give it up.
But I took some tough decisions and learnt to delegate, meaning I was able to cut my hours and go to a 4 day week to be with Henry for a day.
I don't want to miss him growing up like I did my first child.

Cycling wise, 2010 has been my best year ever.
My largest amount of total miles, 10,000 and counting.
My longest ever cycle ride 160 miles.
x15, 100+ milers.
x 7 FNRttC's
Seeing the Sunday Morning Bromley Massive ride grow from just me and Mista Preston on a quick training ride to regularly getting into double figures the amount of riders and discovering what a wonderful City London is.

Finally. The comeradarie and friendship of CycleChat peeps both online and offline.
I like to think that we have all made some great friends through Cycle Chat and our love of cycling.
What a brilliant bunch you all are.

Started raining on Dec18th 2009, we only had 12 days without rain in 12 weeks. As a consequence they decided to open the sluice gates on the dam at the lakes and flooded the whole of our valley, no warning, nothing.
We had to evacuate the house and were unable to return for almost 4 weeks.

The weekend we were due to return, one of our dogs licked a 'procession caterpillar' (google it) and died a horrible death.

It took 6 months for the insurance to settle the claim (the surveyor forgot to put in his report), but when we got paid it was twice what i had hoped for and 3 times what I expected. So a bit of a result there.

Had an unexpected windfall from a pension policy at the end of 2009, so paid for my 2 daughters, partners and grandkids to come over for a weeks holiday in the sun.
Had a bloody big family row and haven't spoken since. Nice one.

Started cycling again in August, bought my new MTB at the end of Aug. Now I'm lovin' it.

Got the all clear from the cardiologist in September.

So all in all a somewhat shite start, crappy middle but improved towards the end.

Suspect the next year will be little different, lets face it, life is all about peddling like buggery just to stand still.
And if you don't go backwards then it's a bonus.

189 of 195 commutes so far.Two p*nct*r*s

One caused by pothole when chasing a bus,the other by a brake block rubbing on tyre.(commute 183 rtn).

1 major incident (commute 95) and one minor but scary incident soon after (commute 100).

Fixie bought about 6 months ago and it has done 1500 miles.I have allegedly done 104 commutes on it of 189 so far.(2 p*nctures). The two other bikes have had no p*nct*r*s.(Touch wood)

Started well lost some weight and was cycling regularly up to end of May then my dear heart did his back in (prolapsed discs) which meant for 5 months I didn't get out only walking the dog. So all the weight I'd initially lost went back plus some more. Then in November felt a bit under the weather went to local A&E which promptly strapped me to an ECG machine... just ordered an ambulance for you dear do you have anyone to inform that you're off to Royal Blackburn.... me : why? well we think you've had a slight heart attack! Fortunately it wasn't, did the angina test heart fab. So what is it doctor? Pneumonia... ffs 6 weeks still no sign of a let up - next year has got to be better

Oh forgot the highlight - my grandson Harry!!! what a cracker! can't wait until he's cycling

It's been a bad year overall, but to try and focus on the bright side...

I've managed to get some good forum rides in with a nice selection of CycleChatters. I've been at my heaviest and most unfit for 3 years so I've been riding more slowly, not so far, and not so often but I've still enjoyed my cycling. Thanks for waiting at the summits, folks!

I've managed to do a fair amount of walking over the local hills, which is always a pleasure.

I've started to earn some money at last, messing about working on t'interweb. So far it has been a trickle, but I think that I will finally crack it in the NY.

Roll on 2011!

I've had a great year. Got more serious with my boyfriend, got two new jobs that I love (though both end next year), and got my bike.

Well, better than last year, anyway.
I'm unfitter than I've been in a while, but I have plans afoot that'll need me to get my act together. Personally, I'm happier than I have been, so that's all good too
On the upside, I've finally met Chuffy and Baggy!! Met a fair few CC peeps for a ride over the year, and not embarrassed myself too much. Plax can still ride my legs off, fiend that she is...

A fairly good year. At work, things couldn't be better as we seem to break records every month and the co. is now building a new factory to contain two robotic compounding machines, total cost around £3.5m, from cash in bank!

Have had some great overseas business trips and the highlight was taking the bike to SA and riding the Cape Argus in February, coming in the top third of my age group and the overseas riders group.

Family fine, just the continuing hatred Mrs Gti has for my Mum that is awkward and irksome.

Fitness has improved with the move from MTB to road, resting HR dropping from 52 to 48. Have had some stonking rides with my regular buddy but no sportives apart from the Argus.

After looking around for two years, finally bought the bits and installed my solar panel, which is working fine but due to get some modifications over the Christmas break.
