I annoyed another cyclist...on purpose!!!

Earlier this week on my home commute, coming out onto a dual with bus lane a rider - from work - shot past me on his MTB.
He was at least 20 years younger than me and a lot fitter... So I draughted him chuckling away to myself until he got annoyed and veered to drop me.
Naughty but I enjoyed it.

You basically tried to hang on as long as you could, then he pulled away?

I don't really get what's to brag about!

Tony - after your recent op and recovery, you deserve your bit of hard earned naughtiness

Good for you, OP. This is an honest and self-deprecating post describing something many of us have done.

How much more refreshing than the bizarre and slightly creepy posts about dropping other riders in SCR escapades, whose only purpose seems to be telling the CC faithful how fast the poster is and how dreadfully slow or artless every other cyclist in (for example) Swindon is.

It's not about Brownie Points, it's just a bicycle. Good to see some fun-loving honesty on these threads. ^_^:thumbsup:

I just thought it was fun AND funny. I know the guy well at work but he doesn't know I cycle-commute and wouldn't have known it was me, I felt no real guilt getting free ride for half a mile - peloton riders do it all the time ;)

Errrrr .......... you kept up with and drafted a chav on a MTB wearing a tracksuit, bum hanging out and kackered trainers for half a mile? Wow ......... you are awesome. Team GB material ;). Anyway you were dropped.

I draft fellow commuting club roadies all the time, except they are on plastic road bikes and I am on my Brompton. As I slow and they come by I stick to their rear wheels. I get a free ride for a few miles sometimes all the way 12-13 miles. Works every time. If there are a few out then bonus as extra wind protection.
