I can confirm that being hit by a car at 30mph hurts!

Kamm tail, rear wing and a C panel the size of Rutland, you could lose a whole HGV in the C panel! Joining a Mway was the worst, you could NOT rely on pulling into a gap behind you, you would toodle along at 50 ish looking for a gap ahead and then aim for it, luckily power over weight used to cure this problem amazing what you can do with 115, 130, 190 BHP!
A bit like the Alfa 159. There's some thick padding around the C piller which makes seeing things off the rear quater difficult due to the wing mirror/rear view mirror overlap being in the pillar, you can look over your shoulder but the B pillar blocks a clear view & you turn your head so much you tend to wander into the next lane by accident. Best policy is to keep a good gap to the vehicle you want to overtake & keep your eye on the rear view mirror so you can find a suitable gap making sure you're over 1900 rpm, 3rd or 4th are the typical gears of choice. When the front of the car at the back of that gap presents it's self in the wing mirror mate the accelerator with the floor. It's good practice to make sure you have a good grip of reality as 80mph from 40mph comes up in 5 seconds flat in 3rd.

Just to add the Old Bill were there & the car involved was a Chevrolet Matiz. My garmin has frozen(broke!) and is now displaying a top speed of 60mph for the impact:wacko:That would explain the lovely black & blue colours coming out of my body! And having re-visited A&E yesterday for them to check my calf they have issued me with a pair of crutches and told me I must use them at all times!:blush:All I wanted was a little bell to attract the wife's attention! (i might need the crutches then though!).
Thank you for all your get well wishes guys, Tony x

Considering all you've been through, you come across as being very upbeat about it. Good for you.
Get well soon, sir.

Some good news. I've received a letter from the drivers insurance company admitting liability & to phone them to get a 'most generous offer' for my injury sustained & provide treatment to aid my recovery.
Which is nice but I will pass it to my legal people to sort out.
