Anyone who has completed an advanced driving course will be familiar with the phrase "£defensive driving" and keeping calm, allowing for the mistakes of others by being prepared for the unusual - and often odd - antics that happen. Most people are OK, there is a small percentage who are not so good. The roads are busy, and sensible use by everyone is what's needed. Shouting at drivers achieves what? A bit like drivers V-signing each other. It's all a bit of pathetic willy waving. The some of these people who appear to look for reasons to be confrontational get cameras and post their codswallop on You Tube or other media. Then it's seen by everyone and the impression is? The "post it I'm such a poor victim" when it's often their skills and ability that are a partial cause just serve to reinforce stereotyping and tribalism, which is more likely to end badly than well. A word used in this thread was "nobber". Perhaps a basic but appropriate choice in this case.

I kind of want to go and close-pass some cyclists, just to see if I can get on Youtube. If anyone sees a video featuring a red Skoda driven by a speccy bloke making a self-gratification artist sign, that'll be me!

Whats going on with the clip in the car ? The passenger seems terrified that the driver is going to do something stupid

An exaggeration, I think, she didn't seem terrified to me. If a driver does a close pass, on a bend, by a junction, as she did, and then offers in mitigation:

"You were in the middle of the road!" (He wasn't) then they should be charged with careless driving because they are basically saying "Yep, I saw you but drove too close anyway'

I assume Cuchilo meant this one

I'll refer back to my earlier post.
1. The driver of the "offended" car sat in lane 2 when he had a chance to move in to lane 1. He then, eventually, moved to a slip road having.
2. The "undertake" was silly and unacceptable, however anyone scanning properly would have seen it coming and made a decision about what to do or not do.
3. The reaction showed aggression - what was the use of the horn all about? That's simply a warning of presence - here it was sounding like an attempted admonishment - quite why the driver bothered is unclear. Pointless aggression.
4. The discussion with the passenger was interesting, it did reflect that this might have happened before and she was clearly worried about a "revenge" situation happening.

Overall - poor driving by both. Just remember these people are out there every day. This type of thing is a regular happening on major roads, and that does not make it right, but I suppose a dash camera means you pop it up on You Tube - why, ego??

re the OP & only cos I'm bored, I really don't (want to) watch much of this youtube headcam stuff, it just depresses me one way or another.

It's the same as we always say, there are bell ends in every walk of life, the unfortunate bus driver seems to have encountered a prime example of one who happens to be on a bike.

The following one was interesting and demonstrated what a poor rider he is. First we see an appalling piece of driving where the young lad in the car is overtaking in a built up area (he needs his licence torn up) but then look what the cyclist does in overtaking the car about to pull out, he's no better than the idiot young driver he is complaining about. No wonder he is finding so much material to upload, his crap road skills are putting him into situations where bad stuff happens

What terrifies me is the thought these idiots could also be drivers, or could become one. Imagine the idiots behind the wheel of a car when they are too mentally unstable to be on the road at all.

You mean like one Matthew who used to post here - complete knob on a bike and an even bigger one in his car.

He'd be better off putting some slicks on his bike. Then he might not blow out of arse so much when he's chasing his 'perps' down.
