I love riding along the riverside to work on my steel cyclocross bike however, since I started riding cross bikes off road a couple of years ago my mountain bike has done maybe 10 miles. The off road sections are more fun on the twitchy cross bike and the road section is MUCH easier.

But those 3 hours could be spent thrashing the living daylights out of a MTB down a canal
