I got down on my knees and thanked the lord that the copper chose to do me for a standard speeding in a 60 on my bike...i guess it was probably because he couldn't actually match my speed up a big gradient whilst trying to clock me and he was in a 330d...only caught me because the 2 lanes went to 1 and i shut off and chilled out as there was a line of traffic at the top. It was a lot more than yours mickle, and i was actually aware of the limit...do the crime, do the time etc....

I am awaiting a letter through the post containing a speeding ticket. It is supposed to arrive within 14 days of the offence taking place (we are currently at 7 days). I know I was speeding though so will happily cough up the money (saw a mobile camera when I was doing 35 in a 30). I just hope it isnt points.

Already..... Ps your speedo is out by 2 to 3 mph so you might be ok. Although the N Wales Police don't mess about.

I was late for work. And no. The cyclists that I have overtaken, I have given at least a whole lane width of room. Just as I expect to have from motorists.

Erm, why were you not on the bike. This is serious cycling slacking offences.

I know this doesn't apply to the OP, but if you are ordered to go on a driver education course, is this instead of the £100 fine and points on the licence?

You are offered, not ordered, to go on a driver education course which you can decline, but yes it is instead of accepting 3 points and the £100 fine which in turn you can decline and elect to go to the magistrate's court to argue your case.

Thanks for the info.
Hold on... this forum is full of threads and comments slagging off speeding drivers, and pointless stupid videos of people driving too fast/illegally/badly and who are dangerous to cyclists. Now here we have two members of the forum (at least one of who has recently been on the BBC decrying the state of the driving where he lives), admitting to crap and dangeous driving and there is a jovial air around it. If a member of petrolheads came on here saying "I drove too fast in a 30 mph area but I was late for work" he would be virtually hung!

Are we saying that being a 5hite driver is OK if you are registered on CC, and ride a bike? Maybe Emma Wotsername should buy a bike and start posting on here, then all would be different eh?
A very fair point. The problem with Matt is that he's already stirred the forum pot enough that people have either already said their piece or are afraid of being accused of bullying. And, without getting into safespeed territory, I'll give you "a bit crap" but dangerous would depend on the circumstances. Apparently you can pretty much drive your car through an orphanage without the CPS laying down a "dangerous driving" charge.
LOL, I could have actually contested that ticket but had better things to do with my time. It stated on the Highways agency website that the M10 would be re-classed as the A414 when the M1 refurb works had finished which was the point when I got stopped.

In addition because they had changed the signs at the north end of the road you did not know where the motorway ended or if was still an M road..

It was cool though and makes an interesting story, and I'll never forget the ticket, which had no reg and the make and model as Catrike Expedition, but what this has got to do with speeding in a commercial vehicle I'm not quite sure.
It's got nothing at all to do with it...just a lary yobbo mention that's all. You can return to saintly status now.
