Way too big. It was sort of Starling size.

That is definitely a large robin. They can grow to 5.5 inches long, which looks about right.

Edit: Wiki says the males are aggressively territorial so that one may have been about to beat the crap out of you for daring to ride through its patch. Wiki also reveals that: "The physical mechanism of the robin's magnetic sense is not fully understood, but may involve quantum entanglement of electron spins."

But you already knew that, didn't you?

@User9609 I was trying to get closer for a pic but it flew off.. it wasn’t in the car when I got home, so all is good!
