Summer Crew ??
Bunch of girls - The best weather was September and October.

This month has been a bit wet though but you have to say what5- 10% of your commute is in the wet if that ?

Have not done my usual commute this week, as there has been some strong cross winds that pushed me across the road a number of times, especially scary on fast rural b-roads.
As for less commuters, never see any on my commute, whatever the time of year.
Went to London last week for the frist time in a number of years and was impressed my the number of people on bikes. Spent my lunch break sitting outside my campanies HQ ( Holloway road) watching the different array of cyclist go by.

I've bottled it lately - I don't mind the rain and wind, but I am not confident on my (newish) road bike in this sort of weather. I've had a few skiddy incidents on it so far and enough painful bone-breaking offs in my life to detest the sensation of my rear wheel skittering sideways across wet manhole covers
Also, while it's shiny and fast, the brakes are utter shite compared to the v-brakes I had on my old hybrid or the disc brakes that are on my MTB. This time of year seems to need more evasive action than they can handle.

So as of tomorrow, it's MTB-with-slicks time, and the shiny road bike can go hibernate until Spring B)

Yup, bike rack at work is rather emptier than it was. One of my colleagues is a total wuss and says he won't ride in unless it's 'warm', trouble is warm for him means about 25 degC-plus ambient air temperature!
Another mate was riding his £600+ MTB (think it's a Univega?) in the summer, and we were all impressed as we thought he'd quit after a fortnight, but now because it's 'raining' he's wussing out.
Me? I'm too bloody stubborn to quit

Yeah, that's me! I was the fastest quad skater last year and this
Not sure I dare navigate across London on quads though..

Coolio! I wasn't being too serious about skate commuting, though a few of my friends do. These are mine:

Nice! I'm on Bont quads at the moment:

I did think about getting some inline speed skates but I do so much indoor skating (roller derby) that I just wouldn't have time to ever put the things on and skate in them!

Anyway, I broke out the MTB this morning and had more fun than of late on the ride in. Brakes sharp as hell, nice upright riding position so I could see more clearly, and no slipping around on the road at all. The only drawback is that it's so much heavier than my roadie that I'm knackered! :tired:

Those look awesome - how much? I'd be very tempted by a set myself!
