the sentiments I echo....
let us know if you are having to 'foot the bill'?
It can happen to anyone of us.
I was on the inside of a BMW last week .. very carefully and slowly creeping up towards the front of the queue..... not wanting to bang/scratch his car with the pedals.. I slowly fell over onto the grass muddy verge as I lost balance...
Pushin meself up I tried me best to seem  but it didnt work.. the geezer just looked bemused and at least gave him a larf

Classic wet weather poor braking with rim brakes. You'd have stopped in time with discs or ceramic rims (probably).

> I hit a car

..once when doing a fastest run from the sisters to the house which equated to 5/7mls in about 10mins - I was sh*t hot MAN

- I was appraoching some lights and was expecting a car to accelerate (when the lights changed) but it never and I hit the rear bumper: the driver even got out, I left (when riding away) saying "its only a bumper..." - I went extra faster after that as I though he'd come after me...

Hi Guys,

Yes I do have third party insurance. The chap said he would phone this morning, but he hasn't, so maybe he has decided that it isn't worth the bother. The scratches were very minor (just surface scratches) so T-cutting it might cover them up.

I think I managed to turn my bars at the last second and soften the crash with my hands, so most of the clatter was from me and not the bike itself.

I only had the extra speed because I was about to go in the outside lane, but the car behind scooted out at the same time and put their foot down, which caught me out.

Oh well.

as I said on the video...I loved the High Five you wanted him to give you

He was trying to use his Jedi mind tricks. "I have not just reared your Fiesta. Nothing has happened here"

Almost an exact mirror episode of a car I hit on Maryland (Near Stratford) In 1987.I looked behind me to overtake a car and it stopped suddenly.I left a paw print on his dirty rear windscreen also. The bike suffered a frame fracture a little while later and I suspect this incident had something to do with it.

Did he know he was being filmed and if so was he cool about it? Just a thought, no undercurrent of "vigilante cyclist"!

I did it at daft o'clock in the morning last month.I was waiting at traffic lights behind a car, the lights when green I set off quick the car in front set off, I glanced down at my pedal, the car stopped and you can guess what happened next

Happens to the best of us, Magna. My son did something very similar earlier this year. He never told us the full details but it was on a roundabout, something about his computer playing up I think, and a momentary lapse of concentration. He broke one of the car's rear light clusters. Happens so easily! I never got to hear of this until some months later when he asked me to pay the bill on his behalf (about £100 - which he later repaid me) because he was on holiday and couldn't settle the bill himself. A pity, because he'd forgotten about his CTC membership with 3P cover, he might have been able to claim on it. :becool:
