He turned 13 in August - in some ways he's young for his age as he has Autism, but he is very intelligent and there's not much he doesn't know about the weapons of WW2

Not that I can offer too much in the way of empathy as mine's trivial in comparison but I've lost more than a stone in the last 9 days with a horrible stomach ailment causing me some very horrible D&Ving. My stomach is incredibly sore so I have some knowledge of what your son must feel like a lot of the time.

It appears to have been brought back from nursery by my grandson and initially his other two grandparents were ill and off work and now I've got it but my nurse wife seems to be immune.

My son has a medical condition called CVS (Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome).
He's had it since very young and it has caused us no end of hospital admissions.
So much so, we have a direct admission policy where he skips the GP/out of hours doctor, and goes straight to the ward for immediate IV hydration and drugs.

He hasn't had an episode for over a year, and I thought we were winning this battle.
He vomited this afternoon. He seemed okay and had his tea.
He's now in bed after being sick after his tea.
I'm hoping we make it through the night without having to go to hospital
It isn't meant to be, we had all those sicknesses in the 60s 70s and early 80s.............why now is it so bad that it needs to be treated by a specialist........when I chucked when I was a kid, my dad did the right thing, sent me to bed with a glass of water, same as everyone........so what has changed in 60 odd years..........its natural

So arthritis in children (called Still's disease) which was discovered in Victorian times and named after the doctor who discovered it, is man made??? ADHD was also first noted in Victorian times.
Cave men had no medical skills, how could they diagnose and put a name to diseases?

Your argument is isn't an argument, it's your ignorant viewpoint.
And for those of us (and our children) who live with disabling conditions, I can tell you, it's real enough.

My mother always taught me, if you don't have anything constructive or kind to say, don't say anything at all.

Oh and for those interested, my son is still unwell this morning.

Couldn't agree more....hope hes on the mend soon

Hoping your boy is on the mend it must be awful and worrying to see him suffering.

Ignore the silly comments I don't know what makes him think he's anywhere near qualified to make those sort of comments

Anyway your son is lucky to have you looking after him ^_^ My mum was a nurse for over 25 years which was great when I was poorly as I was very well looked after  the downside was she could tell a mile off when I was pulling a sicky to get out of school :laugh:

you cannae fool mothers

I have sent a full apology to Scotialass, I should have kept my comments to myself so would like to publicly apologise too.
