....... I may not be driving at all unless I can get insurance sorted!

Renewal in due on my only car, a Ford Mustang, and everybody I've asked fir a quite can't give me one.

The reason? The rather surprising and very odd reason that I only have one car! Apparently the underwriters have changed their terms this year.

Good job I don't mind cycling whatever the weather lol.

They must assume your bs'ing with the mileage.

She's an '04 so doesn't fit into classic and I genuinely drive less than 3k per annum. Service history and MOT back it up. I've called the companies suggested by the Mustang Owners Club of GB without luck so far. Waiting on one getting back to me so fingers crossed.

Believe it of not despite owning her for three years AND being a part time photographer I've got no photos of her! Planning a shoot in spring when the weather (and light) improves.

This isn't mine but it's exactly the same except for the wheels and some billet aluminium details that have been added to mine. http://www.web2carz.com/97432251/2004/ford/mustang/used-cars/for-sale?w2caf=8be436a6a4e0a591

Buy an absolute wreck for £150. Then claim that the Mustang is your second car.
I have thought about that and that will be a last resort.

Can you have a play with the on-line quote systems. You'd be surprised. Adding miles on, or adding Pleasure AND Conmmuting, or indeed taking Commuting off.

Or is it the Mustang isn't showing up on their databases ?

+400bhp. The online insurers and comparison websites are all about volume sales. Although they're seen as a bit old school these days, brokers can still offer great value on performance/v low mileage/odd vee-hickles (said the 'merkin way for your benefit). I've used A-Plan who have always been good (£425 this year on an 07 Porsche - 6k miles a year limit), but others are available.

We used to insure our XKR (supercharged 4.0litre V8) for less than £400/year fully comp, with a limited mileage of 6,000

I will see if there's an old letter/policy document in the drawer, & let you know the company

That said, I guess the difference was, that it was a main-stream UK produced/marketed car. not an import??

What about the advertisers in 'Classic American' magazine???

As Beebo said, just ask them to quote for 10k or 12k miles - it will make no real difference to the premium.
