I'd rather watch 2 3/4 hours of thought provoking, original movie making than 2 hours 20 minutes (and they are almost all 2 hours and 20 minutes) of formulaic, noisy dross filled with digitally modified men in spandex flying around, hitting each other and talking shite.

There's only really two versions though... the original theatrical release and the directors cut, of which there's many versions that are mostly the same.

PS. I like both.

I dont do sci fi as such,never liked star wars,star trek ect as a kid.But love the original Bladerunner ! Ive not seen the new one yet as not allowed to go on my own,my other halfs orders and my kids arent old enough to get in......anyone up for babysitting ?

Blade Runner is one of the finest sci fi films ever made. Subtle, nuanced, thought provoking, visually incredible with a soundtrack to match.

The same could be said of the 2049, I think, but I'll need to see it again to pick up on everything.
