How do you rate the frame Tim, I'm quite seriously debating the 26" as I have an unused (ish) wheelset and some mtb parts that need building into something. The idea of a 29er is nice though....

The original Scandal frames were made from Scandium, now they are made from Aluminium. The frames are quite soft at the rear, not as hard as you may thick. I my opinion, the Scandals I have ride better than the Ti stuff and that's not just me talking. A pal of mine has just sold his On One ti 29er frame and has bought a brand new Scandal. They have a little twist and flex, but certainly not weak. This adds to a better ride from a hardtail. With good tyres and a set of suspension forks up front, I don't think you can get better for the money! Highly recommended.

I did enjoy the S/S experience, but found it very limiting when climbing some of the steep Yorkshire tracks. I now have it set up as a 1 x 10.

I really like this for its lightness, speed and simplicity. It will do and go where I want it to with the 1 x 10 set up. The rear cassette is a 11-36 with a 32t front ring. Some of the hills around here are very steep, but so far I have managed to climb them on this bike. You certainly feel it in your legs after the ride compared to riding a bike with a granny front ring, but I suppose that's making me a stronger rider I think!
